For anyone interested in horror fiction Stoker is an essential read. This collection is massive and not all of it is horror. But you do have all the Stoker horror in one volume at an excellent price.Dracula is, of course, a masterpiece. The inspiration and source for countless written stories and films, it retains its power for the modern reader. It is a long and demanding read, yet there are numerous scenes that hit the reader hard, the sexual subtext rumbles along nicely and Stoker inserts us into the late Victorian period at an oblique angle so that like a lot of the best horror, he’s subversive.
Some readers find his other horror novels such as the Jewel of Seven Stars (both versions included here), The Lady of the Shroud, and The Lair of the White Worm to be less exhilarating than Dracula. Sort of – I found Jewel a terrifying read first time round; Shroud and Worm not so impressive, though worth the effort.
His shorter horror fiction in the collection Dracula’s Guest, is a must read. My favourite from this is The Squaw, an extraordinary tale of revenge, but each of the stories is excellent. The title story is an excised chapter from Dracula but works powerfully on its own.
If you are a younger reader and are ready to take the plunge and look at some of the early Gothic classics that inspired books and films you love, here is one of the wellsprings. For more experienced readers, this book gives you all of your Stoker in the one volume with an opportunity to savour less famous pieces at your leisure.

All in all, Bram Stoker is one of the better authors of the Victorian/Edwardian Era, particularly when writing on occult subjects, but like all writers of the period has a tendancy to be a bit on the wordy side.
I have had good luck with Delphi classics. I purchased the complete works to read Dracula. I wish there was better navigation and the book had page numbers and maybe a link back to the table of contents after each story. I can't give an accurate review of the actual printed text otherwise I find no problem with it. I hope the publisher will upgrade the book's navigation.
Very good writer though the dialogue is a bit difficult to follow in some instances. Excellent stories written in a flowing manner which makes for enjoyable reading.
As usual, Delphi Classics treats us with a wonderful complete collection, with great formating and illustrations as well as thousands of bonus pages with other great classic vampyre works. This particular title is gorgeous and fascinating, probably their best shot with the highly recommanded Shakespeare and Dickens. Don't miss what are probably the best anthologies of classic literature for the kindle!
This edition contains many of truly delightful stories and other novels by Bram Stoker that are very difficult to find anywhere else. He has a true storyteller's gift. A Particular favorite is "The Snake's Pass". If you have spent time in Ireland in the west part of the country this will resonate with truth of the land and the people. Don't miss this great collection.
If you're wanting the complete works of Bram Stoker, this is it. An excellent collection from the author of Dracula; the book that placed Stoker forever on the literary map for horror!
REVISED 09-08-13 This is a good set. It includes virtually everything Stoker ever wrote, much of which is entertaining and worth reading (though some might be judiciously skimmed), and it contains hard-to-find titles and other works which, if purchased separately, would cost much more than this entire collection. Some of these are old-fashioned horror, and some are tales of romance with a hint of the supernatural. The problem I have with this set is not Stoker but the inclusion of too much memory-usurping supplemental material, particularly a work NOT by Stoker titled "Varney the Vampire."
1/3 OF THE TEXT OF "VARNEY" IS MISSING!
Delphi's version of "Varney" is INCOMPLETE; it ends at chapter XCVI, "The Baron Takes Anderburg House..." but it should end much later at chapter CCXX, "The Total Destruction of Varney the Vampyre, and Conclusion." A third of this book is missing--including the ending! This reflects an error originally made in the public domain edition and not detected by Delphi when it used that free public domain text in this Stoker set. Apparently, it STILL HASN'T detected its error, which I find both surprising and somewhat upsetting; doesn't Delphi care?
This error should be corrected or, preferably, the flawed and very lengthy "Varney" should be omitted altogether to save memory. In the meantime, $.99 editions of "Varney" are available in the which ARE truly complete. (The free, public domain version, however, is still incomplete, so don't download that one.)
For those who want solely the works of Stoker without the supplemental frills, I recommend an excellent $.99 set recently published by Di Lernia titled "The Complete Collection of Bram Stoker." On my , I have replaced the Delphi edition with that one--at the very least until Delphi gets its act together and solves the "Varney" problem.
